Community Needs Assessment

Part of our work with the State of California requires us to perform a community needs assessment every two years.  This spring, we surveyed county service providers, low-income community members and researched publicly accessible data, and the Community Needs Assessment is the result of this work.

Community Action Plan

Several themes appeared over and over:

  • While unemployment drops, job growth has been limited outside of Hi-Tech.
  • Budget cuts are negatively affecting Education, Public Safety, our social safety net and all government services.
  • There is drastic inequality between those experiencing the economic recovery and those left behind, particularly by race, gender, age and immigration status.
