Help Sacred Heart Community Service make a difference in the lives of low-income children in Silicon Valley by either donating money or starting a Pack-A-Back drive.
Lack of proper school supplies has been identified as one of the largest obstacles to student academic success. That’s why breaking the cycle of poverty starts with giving a child the tools to learn!
For 2010, Sacred Heart's goal is to provide 1,500 new filled backpacks for students in grades K–12.
How You Can Help
Knowing how important education is for ending poverty you’re probably wondering, how can I help? Well, we've got the answer for you! There are 3 main ways in which you can help:
Make a financial contribution and let us do the shopping.
Donate backpacks and school supplies. Take the guide below as you shop and pack for us.
Multiply your efforts by organizing a drive (see below for more information).

Take Action!
To help us meet our goal of 1,500 new filled backpacks consider organizing a drive.

Motivate your group with the knowledge that together you can provide children the opportunity to rise above poverty.
Provide your group with the grade appropriate backpack inventory list. The backpack inventory list is provided below.
Challenge your group to set a goal for how many complete backpacks you will collect – then go out and beat your goal!
Celebrate your group’s achievement by gathering all the backpacks together and bringing them to Sacred Heart by 3pm on Friday, August 6, 2010.
